Wanda B. Simpkins, MHC-LP, is a compassionate mental health counselor dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges with empathy, authenticity, and respect. She is committed to empowering clients as they work toward healing, resilience, stronger relationships, and lasting personal growth.

Wanda works with adolescents, adults, and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, stress, and life transitions. She believes that every individual and relationship deserves a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where healing can begin. She partners with clients to foster self-awareness, improve communication, strengthen emotional connections, and develop practical tools for lasting emotional wellness.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, and person-centered care. Wanda collaborates with clients to identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, strengthen healthy coping skills, and build on their existing strengths to create meaningful and sustainable change. She understands that healing looks different for everyone and tailors treatment to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

In addition to her counseling work, Wanda serves as a Lead Care Coordinator with the Mental Health Association of Nassau County. Through this role, she has developed extensive experience connecting individuals and families with community resources, coordinating care, and advocating for services that promote long-term stability and overall well-being. Her experience has strengthened her ability to provide holistic, compassionate support while recognizing the importance of addressing both emotional and practical needs.

What Payment Methods Are Accepted?

We are in-network with Aetna, Oxford, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, 1199SUI. We also accept out of network benefits and will submit claims for our out of network clients. We also accept self-pay and can sometimes offer reduced rates.

Our office staff are happy to do the groundwork for you, and they will verify your benefits, submit your claims, and have any reimbursements paid directly to you.
