Richard Vactor is a Licensed Master Social Worker with more than 15 years of experience helping adults navigate life’s challenges and build meaningful, lasting change. He is passionate about supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and other emotional difficulties, providing a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to heal and grow.

Richard believes that every person’s story is unique and that culture, life experiences, values, and personal identity all play an important role in emotional well-being. His approach is grounded in cultural humility and respect, creating a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood without judgment.

Richard utilizes a client-centered approach, recognizing that clients are the experts in their own lives. He works collaboratively with individuals to identify strengths, gain insight, and develop practical tools to overcome obstacles. His therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

Through warmth, empathy, and a strong therapeutic relationship, Richard helps clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and develop healthier ways of coping with life’s demands. We are in-network with Aetna, Oxford, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, 1199SUI. We also accept out of network benefits and will submit claims for our out of network clients. We also accept self-pay and can sometimes offer reduced rates.

Our office staff are happy to do the groundwork for you, and they will verify your benefits, submit your claims, and have any reimbursements paid directly to you.
